Spotlight: Bad Sounds

Way, way back in the distant past of 2014, Bad Sounds- an elusive duo from Bath- released the demo of a track called Living Alone, a gorgeous, fresh-faced reincarnation of 80s electropop. Then the lucky few who caught wind of them were deprived of new music for a seemingly endless year, before the two piece came back with an almost arrogant show of musical conviction.

Despite a minimal online presence, in their funk heavy, aptly titled Banger slack Britpoppy Avalanche and veritable synth pop anthem I Feel, Bad Sounds have carved out their own tailor made creative space. A cocktail of shiny falsetto vocals, infectious bass grooves and a blissful pop sensibility- but the kind of cocktail you mix aged fifteen using the contents of your parents liquor cabinet. Deliciously fun, infuriatingly catchy synth pop.

Bad Sounds play Abbie McCarthy’s Good Karma Club at The Islington this Thursday (24.03.2016). Tickets are £5 and are available here.
